John Bailey is the Chief Risk Officer for BNY Mellon | Pershing in the EMEA region, and a member of the Executive Committee for Pershing Limited. He has overall responsibility for risk; including credit, market, operational, liquidity and strategic risk.
Prior to this, John was the Chief Risk Officer for BNY Mellon London Branch and BNY Mellon (International) Ltd, after joining BNY Mellon in 2021.
John has more than 20 years of experience in financial services across both first and second line roles, covering multiple asset classes and products. After beginning his career on the graduate scheme at Lehman Brothers, John went on to lead Prime Brokerage risk teams across Merrill Lynch, Barclays Capital and Deutsche Bank. Before joining BNY Mellon, John held the role of COO and Head of Risk for the EMEA Securities Finance division at State Street, sitting as a voting member on multiple senior management committees across both UK entities.
John earned a Bachelor of Economics & Management from the University of Manchester.
