Chief Strategy Officer
Thomas Sholes is the Head of Global Strategy and Product Management, Chairman of Pershing affiliate Lockwood Advisors, Inc., an SEC-registered investment advisor, and a member of the Executive Committee for Pershing.
Tom has responsibility for strategy formulation and articulation, market and competitive analysis and leading strategic initiatives inclusive of M&A and partnerships. He also oversees a team of professionals who develop and manage industry-leading financial solutions for our clients. Before serving in his current role, he had other responsibilities at Pershing to include leading our technology priorities committee and serving as the Chairman of Albridge Solutions and head of our managed account solutions line of business.
Prior to joining Pershing, Tom was an executive vice president and senior managing director for PNC Global Investment Servicing. During this time, he was in charge of the financial advisor services division which was comprised of three businesses providing managed account services, data management and analytics solutions. Tom was also head of its strategic planning, corporate development and product management activities and a member of its Operating Committee. He served on PNC Financial’s Management Committee, as well as the firm’s Administrative Pension Committee.
Tom is a past member of the Board of Governors for the Money Management Institute (MMI) and is currently a member of the Outthinker Strategy Network. He is also active in his community and serves on the Board of Directors for Catholic Social Services of Philadelphia and is a member of the Investment Committee for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.
He earned a Bachelor of Science degree with honors from the Pennsylvania State University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Carnegie Mellon University.
