INSITE™ 2008, Pershing's Tenth Annual Financial Products and Services Conference, which took place in June at The Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa in Hollywood Florida, scored high with attendees and exhibitors alike. The annual event attracted more than 1,700 participants. The conference featured an exciting schedule of half-day seminars, 35 track-specific breakout sessions, and dynamic presentations by some of the most respected world and industry leaders, including (in order of appearance):

• Dr. Alan Greenspan, former Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System
• Paul Begala, Political Analyst and CNN Commentator, along with Andrew Card, former White House Chief of Staff for the George W. Bush Administration
• Benjamin Zander, Conductor of the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra

While there were many first-time attendees at INSITE this year, there were also many who had returned from previous years, including those who have been there since the inaugural conference in 1999.

“It’s a great place to hear about what’s going on—that’s why I’ve come back again this year,” said Stacey Weber of B.C. Ziegler.

Conference feedback indicated that attendees were impressed by the speakers, panel discussions, seminars, opportunities for networking, and exposure to the products and services offered by Pershing and our partners.

“There is a great deal of information about products, practice management, and best practices,” said Ric Edelman of Edelman Financial Advisors. “There’s a lot going on at Pershing—and it’s a good time to get immersed.”

The conference was seen by attendees as an excellent forum for learning about industry trends and developments in global investing, with an agenda that is “very exciting and timely,” according to one attendee.

“INSITE sets itself apart from other conferences by the scale and the magnitude of the offerings,” said Doug Johnson of Dreyfus, a repeat attendee of the conference.

Jeff Aaron of Putnam Investments said, “Pershing does a great job seeing that registered investment advisors, their advisors, and home office people get to maximize their time with Pershing associates and vendors.”

The Exhibit Hall, featuring 137 exhibitors and sponsors, was fully staffed with dedicated representatives who answered questions and provided information on their financial products and services.

According to exhibitor Bob Kurzweil of Reich & Tang Funds, “The traffic we get from serious-minded investment professionals who are looking for solutions makes our investment well spent.” Brian Diessner of iShares added, “The diversity of the attendees—international clients, regional broker-dealers, and registered investment advisors—is amazing.”

Kirk Stager of Westminster Financial Securities, Inc., concluded, “Every year the agenda gets better and better, and Pershing outdoes itself.” He should know, he hasn’t missed an INSITE conference in the ten years since it began.
