Over the last year, Pershing has introduced several products to help you meet additional wealth-building goals for your clients. Recently, Pershing unveiled the Alternative Investment Network—part of our ongoing effort to help you meet your clients’ growth and diversification goals while preserving capital and managing risk.

The Alternative Investment Network at-a-glance:
  • Access for all account types
    Alternative investments can now be held in both retirement and retail accounts. This enables your firm to manage all of your clients’ assets seamlessly and efficiently.
  • Transparency
    Leveraging leading-edge technology via Pershing’s partnership with the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) helps you perform transactions and report information in a more secure and timely manner.
  • Cost-effectiveness and flexibility
    In addition to a limited no-fee platform, alternative investment products on a single network provides ease of management and oversight, without incurring additional costs in building a new infrastructure.

For your qualified clients, various alternative investments that leverage the DTCC’s Alternative Investment Product (AIP) network are available. These include non-traded real estate investment trusts (REITs); oil and gas investments; managed futures; registered funds of funds; public direct participation programs; hedge funds and private equity. Currently, alternative investments from the following providers are available with no fees:

  • Steben & Company, Inc.
  • Altegris Investments, Inc.
  • Dearborn Capital Management, LLC
  • Kenmar Preferred Investments Corporation
  • The Linn Group

All investment products participating in the network have met Pershing’s strict eligibility criteria and will be reviewed annually.

Pershing was the first company to become a member of the DTCC’s AIP service that standardizes the way the industry processes alternative investments. Only alternative investment products offered by the DTTC's AIP service are eligible for Pershing’s Alternative Investment Network. AIP provides data integrity and security—enabling customers and investors to feel confident that both the information reported and the transactions conducted are completed timely and securely. Additionally, AIP links market participants, providing an automated processing solution for alternative investments.
