Brian T. Shea, President and COO of Pershing, was one of five industry executives recognized in the December issue of Boomer Market Advisor magazine as one of its "Forward Thinking Five." The publication chose each of the executives based on their creativity, enthusiasm, and forward-thinking agendas to address boomer retirement concerns.
In an interview with Boomer Market Advisor, Brian was described as an "innovator" and "a true industry leader." He explained Pershing's goal to completely redefine the clearing and custodial relationships the firm has with its introducing broker-dealer and independent registered investment advisor clients, and its objective to help them grow their "Business Without Limits."
Brian has witnessed first-hand the impressive growth of the clearing industry—and many paradigm shifts—during his 24 years of experience. In the article, Brian highlighted several solutions that Pershing is delivering to its customers to help them address their clients' retirement needs. These include retirement account rollover solutions, Health Savings Accounts (HSAs), and trust services. Brian also addressed the importance of managed accounts for the industry and foresees that Pershing will continue to be a leader through Pershing Managed Account Solutions. The recent launch of iNautix (USA) LLC, which delivers advanced technology and business consulting solutions for its customers, will be another key offering.
In addition to Brian's recognition, the other four members of the "Forward Thinking Five" included Larry Roth, CEO of Royal Alliance, John Murphy, Chairman and Chief Executive of Oppenheimer Funds, Alexandra Armstrong, Chairman of Armstrong, Fleming & Moore, and Michael Bell, CEO of Curian Capital.
