May 2009

Pershing received a Bronze Medal in the 24th International Team Excellence Award competition at the 2009 American Society for Quality (ASQ) World Conference on Quality and Improvement. Pershing was awarded the medal for the creation and evolution of its Service Level Management infrastructure and Service Excellence culture, including its customer Quality Scorecard. This framework for quality and continuous improvement has increased efficiency for Pershing’s customers and driven operational speed and accuracy to new levels.

Internship programs recognized at annual Diversity Leadership Awards
At its Annual Meeting, SIFMA honored Pershing with the Sustained Leadership Award for the Schools to Work programs, which provide participating high school students with access to mentors and hands-on experience in the financial industry.

SIFMA honored Pershing with its Innovative Leadership Award for its "In the House" initiative, a firm-wide diversity strategy that champions "full associate inclusion."

Technology Managers Forum Award
The Technology Managers Forum honored Pershing—and its vendor partner Information Builders—with the organization's 2007 Best Practice Award first-place prize in the Business Process Improvement category. Pershing was recognized for "best practices" that employed Information Builders' WebFOCUS, a widely-utilized operational business intelligence (BI) platform, to create a service-level scorecard that investment professionals can use as a performance metric.

Pershing was named by Securities Industry News and research firm Financial Insights to its second annual SecuritiesTechnology rankings. The rankings consist of a diverse group of companies providing cutting-edge technology solutions to the global capital markets. Pershing's NetExchange Pro® platform was recognized as one of the leading advisor workstations.

Shareholders Services Association's (SSA) Tony Fireman Award
Larry Morillo was recognized for his leadership in obtaining changes in state laws that eliminate the requirement to issue physical certificates, and in uniting all involved organizations to move forward with the dematerialization effort.
